1. What did life look like before The Warehouse? What past experiences shaped your views on health, fitness, nutrition, and wellness?

I would describe my past fitness journey as a series of peaks and valleys. I would get really into a fitness program or diet plan and stay with it for a while and loose weight and feel in shape and then fall off for a while and then start the cycle again. Fast forward to my mid 40s and these “quick” fixes were no longer working. I was not feeling comfortable in my body and did not feel healthy overall…welcome to perimenopause. I had my checkup with my doctor last November 2024 and had bloodwork done and found out my blood pressure and cholesterol were high. I had been trying to workout on my own by walking and some workout videos, but decided I needed to find somewhere that I could go and feel accountable as well as motivated by others around me. I saw that my friend Lori taught classes at the Warehouse so I texted her for more information and she told me about their Friendsgiving promotion. I was hooked from day one.

2. What has your experience been like since being part of The Warehouse? What have you learned? What has helped you grow or evolve?

Amazing. Funny story that I have never shared (so why not tell it here :)) my first class was Pound

with Ann. I was so nervous going to this gym that I had never been to all by myself and I had zero idea what Pound was. I honestly thought we were going to “pound” some weights by lifting. I was very surprised (although I hid it) when I learned there was drumming involved. I was a bit terrified because the joke with my friends and family is that I cannot find a beat in a song to save my life (the rest of my family actually play percussion) and here I was going to try to keep up for the next 45 minutes! Turns out it was a blast! Everyone was so kind and welcoming and it was a great workout. I learned quickly “when in doubt, pound it out” and that is exactly what I did and do! I left with happy tears and knew I had found my new workout home. And yes, I have been back to Pound many times and continue to love it. One of the best parts of the Warehouse is the people. Not only the instructors, but the people that you meet in class. It is so great to go and see familiar faces and new faces that are there to support each other. It helps give me the push I need that was missing when I was working out on my own.

3. What has changed for you (attitude, energy, habits, priorities, race times, blood work, confidence, etc.)?

I have noticed a positive shift in my physical and mental health. I am an occupational therapist and work with preschoolers and I am able to keep a higher energy level to keep up with them. Outside of work my kids are involved in sports and activities and I am better able to navigate their schedules while still prioritizing my time for me at the gym. It doesn’t always line up, but in years past this would have caused me to give up. I have learned to be less hard on myself and appreciate the body that I have while continuing my health and fitness journey. Over the course of the last year my bloodwork numbers have improved and I’m motivated for that trend to continue.

4. What is your favorite Warehouse workout song?

I really like any song that can be made into a fun workout like Cupid Shuffle or Escapade…maybe I am learning to keep a beat after all 🙂

5. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE WORKOUT CLASS?

Depends on the day. I love that there is a variety throughout the week. It keeps it fun.

6. What is your favorite quote?

“The hardest part of moving forward is not looking back” -Felicity. Yep from the old TV show lol
