About The Warehouse

Since becoming part of The Warehouse community, I’ve learned to love working out, to never give up on myself, and to let go of the pursuit of perfection.

The man is wearing a black t-shirt and shorts, and the woman is wearing a black tank top and leggings. There are air conditioning units and electrical equipment at their feet.

The original location of The Warehouse opened on June 3rd, 2013.

The entrance of a brick building with large glass doors and windows, with signs indicating it houses a fitness and wellness center called 'The Warehouse'.

Today, we are located a stone throw away from our original location. Our entrance faces Rosemount’s Central Park.

Meet Nickie

Nickie Carrigan never planned to own a fitness studio.

In 10th grade at South Saint Paul High School, she was assigned ten minutes of group fitness choreography for a PE class, and she was instantly hooked. She told everyone she wanted to be an "aerobics instructor" (haha, it was the 1990s).

Most people told her that working in fitness wasn't a real job, so she tucked the dream away and went on to earn her degree in English Education and Theatre Arts at California State University, Long Beach.

At 25, Nickie became a mom. Hoping for an hour to herself and a little human connection, she walked into a group fitness class in Huntington Beach, California, shortly after having her first son. The instructor started class with no sense of connection to the group. Nickie left that workout feeling more invisible than when she'd arrived.

That moment became her teaching philosophy, though she didn't realize it at the time.

She believes the workout isn't the entire point of a group fitness class, human connection is. The instructor sets that tone. A great instructor sees you the second you walk in. A great instructor knows the names of their participants, celebrates their wins, and welcomes them exactly as they are.

This is the vibe that makes group fitness life-changing. No one should ever leave a group fitness class feeling the way Nickie did that day. Not on her watch.

In 2004, their little family moved home to Minnesota, and shortly after moving home, her second son was born. As a mom of two, Nickie jumped into her dream of teaching group fitness. First at a community center, then a big-box gym, and eventually building a side hustle in corporate wellness. With two little ones at home and a husband who traveled, she needed a career where she could own her time. Group fitness gave that to her.

HOW THE WAREHOUSE BEGAN

Around 2011, Nickie was teaching a thriving Boot Camp class out of a martial arts studio in Rosemount when the owner told her he was closing. The class had a great following and Nickie had nowhere to take them.

Driving through town after a sweaty day in the bleachers watching their sons compete in RAAA Track, Nickie and her husband spotted a "for rent" sign on the Corrigan Electric building. They called Don Corrigan, rented his shop, and opened their doors.

They named it, “The Warehouse” because that's literally what it was, a warehouse space. But a warehouse is also a place where you come to work, where there are a lot of moving parts, where sustainable change gets made. Even through their move to their current location, the name sticks, and it still fits who they are.

That's still what they do , and what they have been doing for more than a decade in Rosemount.

WHAT YOU'LL FIND HERE

Every class, every challenge, every birthday shout-out and Hall of Fame moment, it all comes back to that day Nickie walked into a group fitness class and wished someone would have just noticed she was there.

At The Warehouse, someone will always notice you are there. It's who we are and what we are about.

What we are about

At The Warehouse, we focus on more than just your body. We believe fitness and movement should be fun, engaging, and give you the results you desire.

Fitness

Healthy people are happy people. Healthy people are better parents, employees, spouses, friends, and contributors to their communities. At The Warehouse, our instructors will help you unleash your inner athlete, bad ass, dancing queen, (you name it) and help you find the best version of you.

Friendships

Train among people who care about you. At The Warehouse, you become part of our community; our fitness friends. Many of us connect in the lobby after class, and even build friendships outside of the gym. We all simply care about each other. If you don't come to class, we miss you. Not only do we miss you, but we help you stay accountable to the reasons you signed up in the first place.

Fun

Fitness doesn't have to be a grueling calorie scorching session that leaves you feeling gutted. At The Warehouse, we make fitness fun and approachable by providing variety, creativity, and exercises to fit your fitness goals.
