1. What did life look like before The Warehouse? What past experiences shaped your views on health, fitness, nutrition, and wellness?
Before joining The Warehouse I struggled to find a consistent workout routine. I’d go for walks or take a bike ride here and there or I’d join water exercise for a session but nothing lasted for longer than a few months. I enjoy being active and being outside. I like to swim, golf, bike, go for hikes so I kept telling myself that an indoor gym wasn’t what would work for me. However, no matter how many of those activities I did I didn’t feel comfortable with who I was physically. I have also struggled with nutrition. Like my physical activities my nutrition was sporadic. I’d eat what I thought was healthy for a few months see no change and then eventually give up.
2. What has your experience been like since being part of The Warehouse? What have you learned? What has helped you grow or evolve? |

The Warehouse has really changed how I look at fitness especially. When I first joined I was very concerned with keeping up with other members like somehow I was being judged if I couldn’t do a push up or sit up(which let’s be honest I’m still working). This could not have been farther from the truth. It took many months but slowly I started to realize my overall fitness/wellness is my journey. The instructors at The Warehouse are saying it over and over, “This is an invitation. Make it work for you. Your body might not balance as well today or one side might be better than the other. Your neighbor might be able to stretch this far it’s okay do what’s right for your body.”. These words have changed my outlook on how I approach my fitness. I am feeling stronger than I ever had (including my high school swim team days). I feel comfortable in my body. I feel great.
3. What has changed for you (attitude, energy, habits, priorities, race times, blood work, confidence, etc.)?
I have set small goals along the way. For example, one of my first goals was to hold a plank and wall sit for one minute. To do one push up for good form. To make the 100 club. My current goal, sit ups!!! Wow are these hard for me. I know I will get there in my time with tons of encouragement. I am also shooting for the 200 club this year.
It turns out that a highly structured, explicitly taught, small indoor gym with loads of enthusiasm from not only instructors but members as well is exactly what I needed in order to make the changes I’ve wanted to for so long.
4. What is your favorite Warehouse workout song?
Janet Jackson Escapade is one of my favorites (not sure my arms love it though)
5. Anything else you would like to share about your Experience at The Warehouse?
Honestly, I can’t pick one workout class. I love have the variety to work on cardio, strength and mobility/flexibility.
6. What is your favorite quote?
“When in doubt pound it out!”
