I started dancing at Melissa’s studio when I was in second grade! Years later, right when I was thinking about trying something new for a workout, I saw Melissa post on Facebook that she’d be teaching yoga at The Warehouse. It seemed like the perfect fit! Melissa is such a great teacher, whether it’s dance or yoga—she really emphasizes moving in a way that feels right for your body at that moment.

I grew up dancing and running cross country, and I had kept up with the occasional 5K until a knee injury made it too difficult. After that, my consistency with working out dropped off, and I was searching for a way to regain my strength and flexibility. Her post couldn’t have come at a better time.

I love the positive attitude of all the instructors, and working out in a group is fun! I especially enjoy Yoga and Yoga Sculpt, and I love how these classes incorporate listening to your body and making adjustments as needed. It can be hard to feel at home in your body sometimes (especially postpartum!), but yoga has really helped me understand how important it is to listen to my body and be comfortable with where I’m at.

Before a workout, I often feel tense and contracted after a long day at work. But afterward, I’m amazed at how much easier it feels to move. Balancing work, home, and health can be difficult, but taking a few classes a week makes it easier for me. All I have to do is show up!
