1. What did life look like before you focused consistently on nutrition and fitness?
I have always been very active. I played sports through high school and when I went to college I quickly realized I needed to find new ways to stay active. I tried running for a while but was so burnt out after a couple of years. I needed that thing that pushed me more than I could on my own. I finally found my way to group fitness classes and realized this was exactly what I needed. It triggered the competitive nature in me – if others are still going, then so should I!
2. What made you decide to make a change?

When I had my third child I decided to try to do my workout regime from home through video class subscriptions. I didn’t think it was fair to run off to the gym in the morning leaving my husband to get 3 girls off to daycare 🙂
I found that these videos were challenging but I was never motivated to push myself. Who would know if I took another break?! After 2 years I decided I needed something different but didn’t know if I could find anything that would work with our crazy schedule. I was so lucky to find the Warehouse where I could get my workout done in the morning and still make it back before everyone woke up. I felt great. I felt more like myself again. It was something I was doing just for me. I was challenged every day and was surrounded by people that didn’t let me quit.
When COVID hit I had a moment of panic. I was so happy that the team was going to offer zoom classes but I just remembered how unmotivated I was during the video classes I had done previously. My fears quickly disappeared after a few days. Having familiar faces coaching me, talking to me, seeing me, and seeing others made all the difference. Nothing will replace in person classes but I am so happy with how consistent I have been able to be with this aspect of my life and what I have been able to achieve while life in general has been so crazy and unpredictable. I might drink a little more wine than I used to hey, but life is all about balance and I’m happy I can balance things out with the Warehouse crew.

3. What has changed (attitude, energy, weight, habits, priorities, race times, blood work, confidence,
etc.)?
Consistency in my workout regime is key to my success. I am more energetic, less tired and feel better overall when I start my day off with the Warehouse. It is literally part of my day and by thinking of it that way there are less room for excuses. I get up, kick a** and take on the rest of the day!
