1. What did life look like before you focused consistently on nutrition and fitness?

Life pre-nutrition and fitness for me included drinking too much, eating very poorly, and major self esteem issues. I hated the way I looked and felt. On top of all that, I realized that I had an issue with drinking. For about a year, it was causing a lot of turmoil between me and my significant other. My life just seemed to be out of control in so many ways.

2. What made you decide to make a change?

I decided to take control of life when pretty much every pair of pants I owned became too tight. I refused to buy new clothes and just became so fed up with feeling so unhealthy. I also went to the doctor and seeing my weight was like a punch in the gut. Very soon after that, I woke up and thought “I am over feeling like this!”. I signed up for a class at the Warehouse and the rest is history.

3. What has changed (attitude, energy, weight, habits, priorities, race times, blood work, confidence, etc.)?

So much for me has changed. I quit drinking about a year ago and I have lost 25 pounds! I feel like a brand new person. When I first joined the Warehouse I was working out at least 4 times a week. After a few months, I started noticing how good I felt and could tell I was gaining muscle and endurance and also felt I was losing weight. However, I was very disappointed when I weighed myself and only lost 5 pounds in 4 months! That’s when it clicked in my head that my eating habits needed to change as well. As soon as I made healthier choices with my eating, I saw the number on the scale drop significantly. My confidence and self esteem have improved and I feel like a million bucks!

1. What is your favorite Warehouse workout song?

2. What is your favorite workout class?

3. What is your favorite quote?

My favorite Warehouse workout songs are any classic rock songs (especially songs by Queen!).

I honestly can’t pick just one! I think Pound and Combat HIIT are very high up there though. There is just something about hitting sticks and bags that makes me so happy. 🙂

I am a quote junkie! My most recent favorite is “Whatever you must do today, do it with the confidence of a 4-year-old in a Batman cape.”
